Magazine Art

This weeks challenge will be for you to get out those magazines and look at them in a different light. No, I'm not talking about the fabulous Sommerset publications or others like them, I'm talking about People, Good Housekeeping, clothing catalogs, National Geographic and the like. Find an interesting picture, or better yet, part of a picture and do something with it. Think using a light coat of gesso over it and excentuating parts of it w/ markers or colored pencils. Or distress it w/ sandpaper in spots, or think of your very own ideas, which is what you should do anyways!!!

Of course stamps and anything else you'd like to add to your art work is always welcome, just remember the rule LOL

I can't wait to see what you do this week!! Which brings me to a quick note I want to add, you've got all week to do this challenge, please don't feel it needs to all be done on Saturday. Also as we go on, please feel free to go back to previous challenges and do them if you wish.

Lets Start Easy--Acrylic Paints

Since this is our first challenge I thought we'd start easy. Acrylic paints are my passion, so our first challenge will be using them. Make anything you wish, but you must use 3 different colors of acrylic paint on your piece. Just because you're using paint doesn't mean you need to use a paint brush to apply it, use your fingers, a sponge, a balled up piece of wax paper, cling wrap, whatever you have handy.


Remember, NO FLOURISHS!!! I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Lets Get it Started

Well we'll get it started on Saturday January 5th. Since Saturday Stampers is no longer, I thought I'd give this a try and see if we couldn't make a go of it. I'm hoping that this site will help challenge all of you a bit to "Step Outside Your Box". We all get so used to doing the same things the same way all the time, lets see if we can't all challenge ourselves in the new year to stretch our imaginations, break out of our creative ruts and move on and up to bigger and better things!
